Calling on community support for ongoing essential Housing and Homelessness services at Encircle Pine Rivers and Redcliffe sites and across Australia.

The Encircle Homestay program assists people in our local communities who are homeless or at risk of homelessness achieve sustainable housing and social inclusion. Homestay provides both Early Intervention and Interim Homelessness Support. The demands for these services have never been higher and yet Homestay is now at risk of closing.

Funding has been extended for 12 months, and may cease all together at the end of June 2018. The Federal government has now announced that they will axe the National Affordable Housing Agreement (NAHA) in the upcoming Budget, raising further concerns as to the future of Housing and Homelessness services, including the Encircle Homestay program.

The health, safety and lives of hundreds of thousands of Australians each year are at stake.

Please sign to add your voice to our call to ensure these vital support services are secured for the long-term and that the people they support aren’t left out in the cold.

We call on the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Treasurer Scott Morrison and Social Services Minister Christian Porter to rule out any funding cuts that would impact on public housing, community housing or homelessness services ahead of the May Budget.
